           My 3-Day Juice Detox Journey: Resetting Body &amp;amp; Mind!

            After a busy summer, I felt like my body needed a reset. You know when your computer has been running too many programs at once and it starts slowing down? That’s how I felt — overloaded, sluggish, and in need of a reboot. I needed to take action! So, I scheduled a 3-day juice detox, daily light movement, swimming, gentle exercise, reading and 'guilt free' time for me.
             &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        
            My go-to juice brand is @presscriptionjuice ... their juices are designed by leading nutritionists and taste delicious!
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            For me, this wasn’t about
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           restriction
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            or
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            extremes
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           — it was about creating space for my body and mind to reset and recharge.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           What does a Juice Detox involve?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           A juice detox typically involves consuming only fresh fruit and vegetable juices, water, and herbal teas for a set number of days. The goal isn’t weight loss, but rather to give your digestive system a rest, load up on nutrients, boost energy and hopefully reset habits that may have slipped. While research is mixed on long-term benefits, many people (myself included) notice short-term shifts like improved hydration, reduced cravings, and mental clarity.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           How will you feel? 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Everyone will respond and feel differently on their juice detox journey. For me, getting through Day 1 was both exhilarating and a little exhausting. Personally, I gained momentum mentally and physically throughout day 1 knowing I have listened to my body and taken a positive approach in improving my health and wellbeing.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Hitting that reset button felt sooo good! 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           By the end of Day 2, things got interesting! Truthfully, I found it the toughest day but also the most transformative. Physically and mentally, I felt tired, a little foggy, and yes — I had caffeine withdrawal headaches. Hunger pangs hit me hardest when walking around the supermarket (talk about temptation!). Mentally and emotionally, there were moments of irritability and low motivation. But I also noticed flickers of something new: a sense of calm and the beginnings of mental clarity.

           What helped me push through?

           Drinking plenty of water alongside my juices
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Resting when I needed to
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Light stretching and walks to boost circulation
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Keeping to a regular juice schedule to avoid sugar crashes
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Day 2 was definitely the toughest! — however, it’s also where the shift started happening.
          &#xD;

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           The After Effects: A True Reset

           By Day 3 and beyond, I really felt the benefits kick in. Completing this juice detox left me feeling cleansed, refreshed and fabulous.

           What you do after a 3-day detox really matters especially, if like me, your goal is to reset your body, improve energy, or build healthier habits. Here’s what worked for me, and what I’d recommend if you try it:

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           Ease Back In

           Keep it Clean

            - Focus on whole, unprocessed foods and stick to a clean eating approach to maintain results: • Fresh fruits &amp;amp; vegetables • High-fiber foods • Low added sugars • Minimal processed snacks.

            I am feeling very privileged to have spent 4 nights at The Marbella Club in Marbella, Spain.  This is my 3rd stay here and it never disappoints,  I have been lucky enough to have ventured off on a few different Retreats where the focus has been mainly on yoga or nutrition (all for personal research of course :)) but this Retreat run by Amanda Hamilton is all about Wellness and incorporates yoga, nutrition - following The Mediterranean Diet (minus the alcohol), Pilates, beach walks and afternoon wellness workshops. 
           &#xD;

           Menopause seems to be a 'buzz' word at the moment yet this 'transition' or 'right of passage' which women have been going through since evolution has been brushed under the carpet, misdiagnosed as depression, IBS, 'she's having a moment' or 'she's going through 'the change' (usually followed with an eye roll) etc etc, any of that sound familiar?

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

         Reading with interest of late all about the microbiome of the gut and its effect on our health.  This has been a topic of conversation on my Masterclass sessions with Super Nutrionist Amanda Hamilton (amanda hamilton.com) and something she has been discussing (and writing about) for some time.

          Interesting article in todays Times (T2 section) highlighting the importance of our unique microbiome's https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/why-the-future-of-medicine-is-all-in-your-gut-n5vq9d9dd and how a healthy gut can certainly help to ward off some nasty diseases.

           Also, if you have been subscribed to the Covid Sympton App there have been lots of discussions and findings by Kings College London with a link between Covid-19 and your gut health.  They say that the latest scientific research shows that these gut microbiomes play a big role in our health, affecting our immune system and even weight gain.

           For a good 'gut feeling' try to add 30 or more different plants to your diet each week, I know who knew there were so many plants!

           Fibre rich foods like wholegrains, beans, pulses, fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
          &#xD;

           Start to include fermented foods such as kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut and kombucha that all contain beneficial probiotic bacteria.
